Existing furniture
Breathe new life into old pine furniture by painting it in an eggshell colour and upholstering front panels in cream leatherette.


Bronze wall and leather barcode
Paint a wall with bronze paint in a slap-dash manner to achieve an aged and worn look. Then cut various offcuts of leather with a stanley knife into two 5cm (2in) thick lengths. Arrange them and stick them on the walls with glue.


Wallpaper art
Cut out blocks of MDF to the desired size and, using craft mount and tape, add the desired wallpaper to create a simple, yet effective, work of art.


Room dividers
Use lengths of chiffon attached to a tension wire to divide the room into sections and also to soften the corners.


Sheet sculpting
Cut simple, white bed sheets and make them into cushions. Make folds and swags and sew along the edges to achieve a sculpted look, backing the cushions with sumptuous fake fur. Shape your existing curtains in the same way to look like togas.


Metallic stripes
After painting the main wall colour, apply some low tack masking tape to create the desired stripes and paint them using metallic paints.
